The Legend, The Journey Begins…

The Legend; The Journey Begins... narrates the classic Ramayana epic through dance, music and theatre within a contemporary dance theatre design. Audience can expect a myriad of dance styles, including ethnic dance forms such as Bharatha Natyam (Indian), Baris and Wayang Wong (Balinese), from a cast of more than 20 dancers from Singapore, Malaysia and Bali, Indonesia. Directed by Ms. Kavitha Krishnan, creative director of Maya Dance Theatre, The Legend; The Journey Begins also marks the first time the Ramayana epic is explored and presented through the amalgamation of Asian dance forms and dance vocabularies, and at the same time, designed within contemporary dance theatre.
